Submission Preparation Checklist
All submissions must meet the following requirements.
Ethics and Publication Malpractice:
Ethics and Publication Malpractice Statement of the Journal has been read and agreed upon.
- Authors adhere to the highest standards of ethical behavior and comply fully with the policies of the journal
Originality and Exclusive Submission:
- Manuscripts submitted have not been published previously and are not under consideration by any other journal.
- If the submission has been previously published or is under simultaneous consideration elsewhere, a clear explanation must be provided in the “Comments to the Editor” section.
File Format:
- Submission files are provided in one of the following formats: OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect.
- The file is editable and not locked or password-protected.
- Authors must avoid submitting scanned documents or PDFs, as these are not suitable for the editorial and peer review process.
Reference URLs:
- Where applicable, include working URLs or DOIs (Digital Object Identifiers) for all cited references to enhance accessibility and allow readers to verify sources easily.
- Ensure that web-based sources are up to date and accessible at the time of submission.
- References to online content should include the full URL and the date of access if the content is likely to change over time.
- Avoid citing unreliable or non-scholarly websites unless directly relevant and appropriately justified.
- Ensure consistency in the formatting of online references in accordance with the journal’s citation style.
Manuscript Formatting:
- The text must be double-spaced and use a 12-point font.
- Italics should be used for emphasis rather than underlining, except for URLs.
- All illustrations, figures, and tables should be embedded within the text at appropriate locations, not placed at the end.
- Pages should be numbered consecutively throughout the manuscript.
- Use a standard, readable font, preferably Times New Roman.
- Avoid excessive use of bold or colored fonts unless necessary for clarity.
- Headings and subheadings should follow a consistent and clear hierarchy as specified in the Author Guidelines.
- Ensure that all tables and figures are clearly labelled and include descriptive captions.
- Abbreviations should be defined upon first use in the text.
Adherence to Author Guidelines:
- Manuscripts comply with the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.
Blind Peer Review Compliance:
- For submissions to peer-reviewed sections, authors have followed the instructions detailed under Ensuring a Blind Review to maintain anonymity and impartiality in the review process.
Responsibility for Errors:
- Authors who identify significant errors or inaccuracies in their published work are obligated to promptly inform the journal editor or publisher.
- Authors must cooperate fully with the editorial team to facilitate correction or retraction of the affected publication, ensuring the integrity of the scholarly record.
- If the journal editor or any third party brings a potential error to the author’s attention, the author must respond promptly and take appropriate action to investigate and, if necessary, correct or retract the publication.
Copyright Notice
Submission of a manuscript to IS indicates that the work is original, has not been previously published (except as an abstract, lecture, or thesis), and is not under consideration by another journal. By submitting, authors affirm that their manuscript meets the journal’s ethical and editorial standards and that they agree to the terms of copyright and licensing upon acceptance.
Once accepted for publication, authors grant IS the first publication rights to the work. However, authors retain full copyright of their content and remain the legal owners of their intellectual property.
IS provides open access to all published articles six months after the release of the respective volume. Once the embargo period concludes, articles are made freely available under the Creative Commons Attribution (CC BY) License (https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/). This license allows users to share, adapt, and reuse the work in any medium or format provided that appropriate credit is given to the original authors and the initial publication in this journal.
The journal's delayed open access model supports global knowledge dissemination, ensuring that research is accessible without financial or legal barriers. Authors are also encouraged to archive their published articles in institutional repositories, personal websites, or other platforms, with full citation of the journal version. Pre-print versions posted online should include a citation and link to the final published version in IS as soon as the issue is available; post-print versions (including the final publisher's PDF) should include a citation and link to the journal's website.
All materials published in the IS website are distributed under a Creative Commons Attribution license, unless otherwise noted.
Privacy Statement
The information entered in this journal site, including names, email addresses, institutional affiliations and other contact details will be used exclusively for the stated purposes of this journal and will not be shared with any third party or used for commercial purposes. Reviewers and editors are required to treat all manuscripts under review as confidential and must not disclose any part of the manuscript or related correspondence to unauthorized individuals prior to publication. Referees shall handle all content as privileged information and use it only for the purpose of evaluation.
IS respects and safeguards the privacy of its authors, reviewers, and readers. The journal complies with applicable international data protection regulations, including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), ensuring that personal data is processed lawfully, fairly, and transparently.
