The rapid growth of digital scholarship, research data, and institutional knowledge has transformed university libraries into managers of integrated digital knowledge ecosystems. Established in 1916, BHU preserves an exceptional scholarly and cultural heritage, including dissertations, research publications, rare books, manuscripts, archives, administrative records, multimedia resources, and museum collections. However, these resources remain fragmented across multiple repositories, limiting discoverability, interoperability, preservation, and global visibility. This paper proposes an Integrated Digital Library and Knowledge Infrastructure (IDLKI) for teh university that will integrate scholarly, administrative, and heritage resources within a standards-based, scalable, and secure digital ecosystem. The framework will combine institutional repositories, ETDs, research data, digital archives, and multimedia collections with interoperable platforms, enterprise networking, long-term preservation, and AI-enabled semantic search, multilingual OCR, automated metadata generation, manuscript recognition, knowledge graphs, research analytics, and intelligent discovery. The proposed model will preserve BHU’s century-old intellectual heritage while enhancing research visibility, interdisciplinary collaboration, institutional governance, and global access, offering a replicable framework for research-intensive universities.References
