Abstract

Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s addresses at Ayodhya—on 5 August 2020, at the foundation laying of the Ram temple, and on 22 January 2024, during the Prana Pratishtha—are milestones in articulating India’s civilizational spirit. In the first, he invoked Rama as the emblem of unity in diversity, affirming that the Mandir would embody eternal faith, unite the nation, and mark a historic fulfillment equal in significance to Independence Day. In the second, he described the consecration as the dawn of a new era, consecrating timeless ideals of faith, culture, and human values in national life. He portrayed Rama as universal—“not fire, but energy; not a dispute, but a solution; not limited, but eternal”—a guiding force for humanity. Rooted in the Vedic ideal Sarve Bhavantu Sukhinah, he stressed that the temple symbolizes the wish for universal well-being. Defining Rama as the faith, foundation, thought, and soul of the world, Modi elevated the temple as a cultural-spiritual beacon whose impact would endure for millennia. Together, the two speeches present Rama as the living confluence of cultural memory, spiritual ethos, human values, and universal ideals, making Ayodhya heritage of which needs to be conseved using Informatics; both a sacred abode of the past and a source of inspiration for the future. Taken together, the two speeches portray Rama as the living synthesis of cultural memory, spiritual ethos, human values, and universal ideals, making Ayodhya  a heritage that calls for conservation; both  a sacred abode of the past and a wellspring of inspiration for the future.
