Abstract

Agricultural Informatics offers innovative solutions by integrating advanced technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), satellite imagery, IoT, remote sensing, and blockchain to meet the rising demand for food resulting from population explosion.  This evolving field transforms data into valuable insights that enable smarter, more sustainable farming practices. It supports initiatives like precision agriculture, climate-adaptive crops, intelligent pest management, and transparent supply chains, all aimed at enhancing productivity while protecting biodiversity. The papers in this volume showcase how leveraging informatics can address future food challenges, promoting both global food security and a thriving natural environment for future generations.

  • Ojha Pankaj, Department of Agricultural Extension, Banda University of Agriculture and Technology, India

    Pankaj Kumar Ojha has MSc. (Agriculture.) from Banaras Hindu University (BHU), Varanasi, India and Ph.D from Dr. Rajendra Prasad Central Agricultural University, Pusa, Bihar with Gold Medal; in Extension Education. Is also qualified in Rural Development from IGNOU, Theatre Communication from BHU, MBA (HR & IT) from Vivekananda Subharti University, Meerut. Has numerous books, and research papers and popular articles to his credit and was honoured with National Award AIASA for his contributions. Is presently faculty of Department of Agricultural Extension, Banda University of Agriculture and Technology, India. His areas of interest are Agricultural Informatics, and developing information systems for conserving traditional knowledge at grassroots level.
