Abstract

Assessing the status and role of CHI in various contexts, learning, and understanding, here an attempt is made to present a review and appraisal of the contemporary scenario. Together with the ICTs various niches and attributes of CHI have the potential for promoting understanding and preservation of cultural heritage. Deeply-rooted education also plays an important role in this direction, so the RWYC. CHIU will also help in clarifying and justifying the unity and integrity between Culture and Nature. The current debate in CHI pens space of the new corners on the line of multidisciplinary approaches. These issues are illustrated in this paper.

    Olimpia Niglio is a Professor of Architectural Restoration & Cultural Heritage, at the University of Pavia. She is the Vice President of ICOMOS PRERICO, and of ACLA, Asian Cultural Landscape Association (Korea-Japan- India-Italy); President of the International Scientific Committee, EdA Esempi di Architettura (Rome) founding International President of RWYC: ‘Reconnecting With Your Culture’ (-- a charter of the Euro. Comm., and a member of UNESCO (since 2020), and Vice-Chairman, CIRD (Centre for Informatics Research and Development) - Heritage Informatics Advisory Committee
    (HIAC), Trivandrum; India. Her publications include 180 papers and 23 books & anthologies in the fields of History of Architecture, Cultural Landscapes, heritage conservation,
    and Sacredscapes, covering areas between the Far West and the Far East.
